"I cum inside you," he growls in my ear. I grip his arms as he pounds into me. Grant leans down and kisses me, hard. Pouring everything into it like he always does.
A few strokes later we both find our release. The water is pouring over us.
"I love you, Gracie," he kisses me sweet and tenderly.
"I love you too, Grant." He smiles at me. God, I love his smile. It’s like home. He's usually such a grumpy man to everyone else, but not to me, never to me.
Reaching to the side, I grab my loofah. "Let me wash you."
"Only if you let me return the favour."
I laugh "I think I know the drill by now." He gives me a quick kiss before letting me down, and we wash each other. This is what happiness feels like, and I can't believe I get to have it for the rest of my life.
I must have said it out loud because I hear Grant whisper in my ear,
"That's my line."
Chapter 14
Grant
Grace and I stand side by side at the kitchen sink. We just finished breakfast and are cleaning up the last bit of it. She's been different lately. I'm assuming it's because of what she's been through. When I think about it all, it's a lot. Getting hit by a car, a stranger lying to her about being his wife, remembering the truth and keeping it from me, getting kidnaped, and finally finding out her mother and grandparents were murdered. And the cherry on top, sending her father to jail. No wonder she seems different. I just hope I can make her feel better.
I called the garage and asked the guys to take over for me today. I wanted to spend the time with Grace. I haven’t seen her mourn her mom. We spent a few days healing from our injuries after getting out of the hospital but went back to work soon after. Even on our wedding day we still put in a half day at the garage. One thing Grace and I have in common is where are hard workers, but she needs to grieve.
"Okay, all finished," Grace says, putting the last dish away. She looks at the clock on the wall. "Oh gosh, we better hurry up or we’ll be late for work." she goes to leave, but I grab her hand and pull her towards me.
"Gracie, I called in, we are taking a day off." I bury my face in her fabulous red hair, smelling her sweetness.
I feel her laugh, and she wraps her hands around my neck. "A sick day, huh?" She leans up and kisses me. "I think we could use one."
"Well, I have a specific plan for us this morning. " I'm not sure how she'll take it, but I push forward anyway. "I bought the plot next to your grandparents in the cemetery; I thought we could lay your mom to rest, officially." She pulls back and looks at me in shock. I know it’s because Allen told the DA he burned Gloria’s body, so there was nothing physically left of her.
I see Grace’s eyes start to water. Shit. I didn't want to upset her. "I know she won’t really be there, but I thought she deserved a final resting spot, somewhere you can visit." Tears are rolling down her face now.
"Thank you," she sobs. She hugs me tightly and continues to cry. "Thank you so much." I let out a sigh of relief. I hold her as close as possible.
"Anything for you, Gracie." I kiss the top of her head, just letting her sob. I don't think she's had an actual cry about it all.
Grace
I stare down at the three flower covered graves in front of me. The tombstones of my mother and grandparents. The ceremony was small and sweet. Grant set the whole thing up. Sue was there and a few other friends of my grandparents who remembered my mother.
I look at Grant; he's leaning against his Nova parked on the street. I told him I needed a minute alone. I feel like a huge weight is lifted from me, especially after the hour-long sobbing I did this morning. I'm getting what I've always wanted. Closure. But I'm also getting justice. My father’s trial starts next month.
"I love you guys," I tell my family, then walk into Grant’s open arms. His scent always calms me, the smell of home.
"You okay?" he asks in his deep voice, I can feel the rumbling through his chest.
"More than." I pull back and cup his face "Thank you. I love you so much; you gave me a home, everything I've ever wanted." I still need to tell him about the baby. I just keep missing my window.
"That's my line" he cracks off, and we laugh.
"Let's go home." I want to tell him somewhere special, and our house is that to us.
It doesn't take us long to get there. Once inside, I take Grant's hand and lead him to our back porch. It overlooks our large yard and the lake. I love this view, I’ve painted it more than once.
"Grace, what's wrong?" I can hear the concern in his voice.
Turning to him, I grab both his hands. "Grant, I love you so much. You have given me everything I ever wanted in life, including the truth about my family." I pause, and I see Grant has a loving expression on his face, and he pulls me closer. "And because of you, we're going to have a family of our own." I take his hands and put them on my stomach. I see it click into place. His eyes grow wide, and the most beautiful smile spreads across his face. One I haven’t seen yet. It’s filled with pure joy and amazement.
"You're pregnant?" His words are barely a whisper, and I nod my head. Suddenly Grant is on his knees, pushing up my shirt and laying kisses on my soft belly. "Oh God, Gracie, I didn't think I could be any happier, but you just gave me so much more than I could ever imagine." I feel him nuzzle my tummy before he stands up kissing me hard. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him back, showing him how happy I am, how much I love him.
"How about I make us some lunch? I'm starving," I say, our lips just barely apart. I feel Grant's hand on my tummy rubbing it soothingly.
"My boy is hungry." He has a grin on his face.
"It could be a girl you know?" I say with a smile, and I see his grin drop.
"No. No way, Gracie, I don't think I could handle that. Look at you, and heaven knows she's going to be just as gorgeous. And boys. Fuck. No boys, ever. She's going to be a monk." Grant is rambling, not making any sense. I can't help but start to laugh. He stops and narrows his eyes.
He pulls me close again. "You know you'll have to give me two boys for every girl we have."
"Really, and why is that?" I can barely stop laughing, but he's dead serious.
"I'm going to need some backup fending off shit heads," he growls out.
"You do realize you'll have Joe, Miles, David, Sheriff James, and Deputy Connors to help with that, right?" We've made quite a few friends here in our little town.
Grant grunts in acknowledgment, not sounding any happier.
"So how many kids are we talking here?"
"As many as you'll give me," he answers right away.
"Well then, let's go inside and celebrate our happily ever after." I wiggle my eyebrows at him.
He shakes his head and chuckles. "That's my line."
Epilogue 1
Grant- 8 months later
I wipe off the rest of the engine, making it shine. It feels good finishing a project. The last eight months have been nothing short of amazing. Grace has bloomed as a person, really finding herself. Each day has been better than the last for us.
Her father's trial went smoothly. The enormous amounts of evidence, and Allen and Trevor testifying against him, was hard to talk his way out of. He's been sitting in a New York prison for the last few months now.
I watch Grace in the office from my workspace in the garage. She's almost nine months pregnant and looks like perfection. She's round, glowing, and her dress fits her snugly in all the right places, it makes me drool with lust, and my jeans supremely uncomfortable. She's talking to Sue and Miss Elis. They brought over some more baby items for us. Not that we needed any. My son has more than enough when he finally arrives. Son. God, we were so ecstatic when we found out. I can't wait to teach him my trade, be a worthy father. Like one I never had or knew. I want to give my family everything I didn't have.
I see Sue and Miss Elis hug Grace and leave. My need for her is strong; she's been driving me crazy over the months. Grace is horny as hell since she’s been p
regnant, and I fucking love it. I walk to the office, closing the door and locking it behind me, then shut the blinds that look onto the garage. Grace is going through the things the ladies just dropped off.
"Look at this one," Grace holds up a onesie, smiling. It has our "Grant's Garage" logo on it. It’s damn cute.
I pull her close, resting my hands on her beautiful belly. I take her lips in a hard passionate kiss. Seeing her bred with my baby makes me animalistic for her, and she loves it. We finally separate, gasping for breath. She snuggles into me, trying to get as close as possible.
"It's been two hours since I touched you. I've had to watch you walk about in this sexy as fuck dress all morning while I was working," I breathe in her scent while my hands roam over her body and landing back on her belly. I’m leaving grease stains all over her. Suddenly I feel a giant kick from her stomach, making me smile.
I hear Grace groan. "Grant, I'm a whale. I feel like a gained a million pounds."
"You're so beautiful pregnant. I just want to keep you this way all the time." Grace laughs.
"Yeah right, buddy." She steps out of my arms and goes back to the desk and starts working. "Now get back to work," she says with a wink. I feel my heart swell with love, and it gets fuller each day with Grace in my life.
"Fine but I’m taking you for lunch." I give her a smirk.
"You mean you're taking me out for lunch?" she cocks her head at me.
"Sure, maybe after I eat you." I smile and wiggle my eyebrows, then leave the office.
Trying to focus on an engine will be next to impossible now.
Epilogue 2
Grace- 6 years later
"Okay, now we get the sponges, and make sure they are soapy."
I watch as Grant instructs our boys, Garret and Gavin. They are washing his Nova just outside the garage. Our daughter, Gloria, squeals in excitement watching her brothers and Dad wash the car. She’s about nine months old. Garret is five and Gavin is three. They all have my red hair. Grant loves my hair, and he was so excited to see my colour on their heads.
Grant hears Gloria and takes her from me. "You want to help, my Glory?" He kisses her cheek making her laugh. He's such a fantastic father. He loves all our kids so much and spends every moment he can play with them.
We ended up expanding the garage. So now, not only do I have a more significant studio, but the kids have a safe place that's just for them.
"Mommy, I'm going to clean it the best," Garret tells me and I smile at him.
"Mommy, help us," Gavin holds up an extra sponge for me.
I grab it and start washing the car with them. The sun is shining down on us on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I feel Grant stand beside me; I look up to see him smiling at me with a goofy look in his eyes.
"What's on your mind, hun?" He leans down with Gloria in his arms; he kisses my lips softly.
"Just thinking the kids need a pet." He's been trying to convince me about getting a dog for a while now. I keep trying to tell him the kids are too young. But looking at Grant now, he's giving me those puppy dog eye.; I giggle at his expression. The kids have softened him over the years. "You know, I never had a chance to have a pet growing up." Grant starts in again. God, as soon he starts talking about his childhood I get sad, and always give in. Just like I'm doing now.
"Fine!" I throw my hands up. Ultimately giving up on the matter.
"Hear that, guys? Mom said yes!" Grant shouts and the boys scream in delight. We all laugh.
Sure enough, later that day we ended up bringing home the cutest chocolate lab. The boys beg to call him Gus, so we did. And with Gus a part of our family, we feel genuinely complete.
Epilogue 3
Grant- 10 years after that
"Grants! We need to get going," I hear Grace yell from the office.
Garret, Gavin, Gloria and I have our heads under the hood of my Nova as I teach them some basics like I always do. Grace is trying to get us home on time. We are having a cookout with our friends tonight. Sheriff James, Miles, and Deputy Connors are all married with kids now. The children get along great. We even have David, Sue, and their spouses coming as well.
"You heard your mom. Clean up and load up." The kids go to the large garage sink. Gus following close behind them.
I see Grace lock up the office before heading over to us. I open my arms, and she instantly walks into them. I lean down and give her a deep passionate kiss. My hands roam all over her body. She's become much fuller after three kids, and I love every extra inch. She's perfect.
"Eww, Daddy is kissing Mommy" Gavin laughs at us. Garret is covering his eyes and Gloria is covering Gus's.
"In the Nova, all of you." I bark at them with a smile. They quickly load up. I look at the three redheads and the chocolate lab sitting in the back-bench seat. I could have never imagined my life being this full. Full of life, full of love, full of everything I never had, but always wanted.
"I love you, Grant." I look down to see Grace staring at me in amazement. I don't know why. I'm an ex-con turned grease monkey. But at this point I don't care what she sees in me. She’s stuck with me no matter what. "I couldn't have picked a better partner to have in my life.” Her voice is still music to my ears after all these years.
I feel my heart burst from the amount of love it contains, but as I said before, she would wrench it back together again. I cup her face in my hands, kissing her lips. Pulling back, I look into her beautiful green eyes.
I have so much I want to say to her, but I’m a man of few words and only three come to mind. "That's my line."
